Damnation... Its OKay to play....

The game is really good in some sense and very poorly made in the sense of its very bizarre AI, where you need some time for them to react rather than the player(which is you to react..)

the game is quite simple in design. powered by the unreal 3 engine it has got all the required modes of play. It is simply a 3rd person action adventure, where you need to explore the given location to find a way up, or out so that you are either chased around or chased by someone behind you(they don`t always stick around your back..)

the story is about gaining the fortification of prescott, a ruthless leader of the Damnation era... the game has a feel of wild west and all the red indians running around with a mindless drug used to make them super soldiers. the hero is Hamilton Rourke, an outlaw as i told you in the civil war times who has the mission to take out the P.S.I from its strong hold in the US at these dangerous times. what makes the game itself boring is that the shooting and action is like playing ducks on a NES system... the enemies don`t always dodge and fight, they take the fire to them(literally speaking..)

Another interesting thing about the game is its serene locations and fast-paced bikes... i am a huge fan of Star-wars POD racing and when i first drove the bikes in this game i was taken aback, you can ride the bike almost in 360 degree in vertical as long as there is a surface to hang on to.

the weapons are innovative but the sounds are all the same... it looks like a lot of the games nowadays borrow their weapons from Doom universe...

the puzzles are not that tough to solve, they are quite like pulling levers and aligning clock works... but the major puzzle in the game is the navigation itself.. sometimes you are helped with a short video or a panned camera to tell you where to go.... and in other cases you are always on your own... the only way of assuring that you are on the right track is by the games auto save option which would give you a "PHEW... that was close" in your mind...

the game`s downside is its character build, it is some times intriguing to ask yourself is this possible, i meant the AI as well as their voice responses(robotic... Ahem!!),anyway the motion of the game is like stick figures and are mostly made to look like a game developed by puppets... wolverine was also developed from unreal 3 engine but still the characters do look like humans...

the worst thing about the game is its poor refresh rate and i constantly got pain in my eyes seeing the cut-scenes in frame rates like less than 30 FPS.... and whenever i pan the camera to see a new location the screen would look look like it has gone half.... loading one half in its GPU processor and making a refresh frame then... it is so annoying when i get to reload some time after getting hit by a rocket or a gun.
I should say i completed the game in 11 days roughly about 3 to 5 hours a day... and to be honest the most time of it was spent on exploring rather than shooting down enemies.... and the game has also got co-operative mode where you can play with your friends online or through LAN....
